San Francisco, or San Pancho for short, is a newly discovered gem at the end of the beaten road. It is a relaxed little beachfront village that is the tamer version of the touristic Sayulita. The pace is slower and the nights are quieter. Shops and restaurants are more spread out but have the same eclectic feel. The narrow streets are clean, well-kept, and brightly-colored. Luxury villas are tucked away on cliffs above a more dramatic open sea. Local Huichol artisans display their wares daily in the small plaza in front of the beach. The EntreAmigos created a recycling center, library, artists’ gallery, and circus school for children which reflects how environmentally conscious and socially proggressive this little community is. Even the elegant new La Patrona Polo Club focuses on sustainability and respect for nature. San Pancho is currently developing new inventory to meet the higher demands of people migrating over from Sayulita.
