Exclusive Local Broker for Leading Estates Of The World
Harriet Cochran Murray, Puerto Vallarta Real Estate Agent and Director of Cochran Real Estate, is the current President of AMPI Puerto Vallarta (Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals) and also a long time member of CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist), which is a designation under NAR (National Association of Realtors). She is a Realtor with NAR International and travels each year to the FIABCI consortium of developers and real estate brokers.
She has traveled to many places such as Luxembourg, Russia, France, Spain, Greece, and the Netherlands to attend courses and presentations of internationally known economists, developers, and real estate companies.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Harriet has a BA degree in Art Education and a minor in Business from LSU at Monroe, Louisiana.
She became a Texas real estate broker in 1975 and worked as the broker for a large developer for 10 years before forming her own company. She has had the opportunity to work in residential as well as commercial real estate in Texas, and served as a general partner in commercial office/show room development.
Harriet moved to Puerto Vallarta in 1996 and worked for a local real estate firm for a year and a half before opening her own office in 1997. Her brokerage in Mexico includes second home and resort listings and sales, property management and leasing, feasibility, investment analysis, and implementation.
What she has learned living and working in Mexico is that there are many similarities between Louisiana and Mexico, among which are the use of the Napoleonic Code for a legal system, and appreciation for the French and Spanish early settlement of her home state. The early influence of Spanish and French culture, customs, music, art and food, have heightened her awareness and enjoyment of the rich culture and life she has found here.
